We watched the sun set. We watched it slowly making its way past the horizon. It was the first time I watched the sunset with someone I loved right next to me. It was the movie definition of perfect. There was a bone freezing chill in the air. His warm muscular arms were wrapped around my tiny fragile shivering body. The sky was all shades of orange and red. Almost as if someone set the sky on fire, cause they knew of our secret. Of our love. Of our secret spot. And they were jealous. I would have been too, had I been that someone else.We were sitting on big rocks. Blouders; close enough for the ocean spray to moisten our skin.It was just like the movies. It was just how I always wanted it to be.
Okay. So maybe I lied a little. But you wouldn’t have known, had I not mentioned it. Everyone lies to make things better.
Here’s how it really happened.
We watched the sun set. We watched it slowly making its way past the horizon. At least I did. You commented that it was going ‘rather fast’ in your Ohsoclever sarcastic tone. I chuckled. It was the first time I watched the sun set with someone I loved right next to me. It was better than a movie. There was a bone freezing chill in the air. My arms were wrapped around his big shivering body. He was cold. More than cold. His teeth were chattering. It was rather amusing. I tried to keep him warm. There was only so much warmth my fragile body could generate to his. The sky was all shades of orange and red. Almost as if someone set the sky on fire cause they knew of our secret. Of our love. Of our secret spot. And they were jealous. I would have been too, had I been that someone else. We were sitting on big rocks.Boulders; close enough for the ocean spray to moisten our skin. It was more than I could ask for. More than I could want. I was content. And in that tiniest of second, his lips moved on to mine. warming my face, as my icy fingers took shelter on his trembling chest.
It was a different kind of love. The kind that’s easy and comforting. The kind where you don’t care how your hair looks like, or if your pyjamas looked too withered and old. It was the warm I love you kind.
Yours truly,
